God’s Big Family is built for households to read the Bible together. We collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and children never have their own accounts or public profiles.
1. Who we are
God’s Big Family (“we,” “us”) operates godsbigfamily.com, a family discipleship web app. Questions about this policy can be sent to the contact address listed on our website.
2. What we collect
- Account information: the parent or adult account holder’s email address and sign-in details (including Google sign-in, if chosen).
- Family progress: which stories, memory verses, and achievements your household has completed, stored under one family unit.
- Guide questions: messages you send to Ask the Guide, so it can reply.
- Basic technical data: standard logs (such as browser type and error reports) used to keep the service secure and working.
We do not ask for names, birthdates, photos, or locations of children.
3. Children’s privacy
The app is designed to be used by a parent or guardian together with their family. Accounts must be created by an adult (18+). Children do not create accounts, have public profiles, or send messages to other users.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
4. Information stored on your device
Some preferences — like your chosen reading depth, Discover question style, and feelings-wheel selections — are saved only in your browser on your device. You can clear them anytime by clearing your browser’s site data.
5. Ask the Guide and AI
Questions sent to Ask the Guide are passed securely to an AI provider to generate an answer. We do not sell these conversations or use them to build advertising profiles. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal details (such as full names, addresses, or health information) in Guide questions.
6. How we use information
- To provide the service, save your family’s progress, and sign you in.
- To answer Guide questions.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To send essential account emails (like password resets).
8. Retention and deletion
We keep your account information while your account is active. You may ask us to delete your account and family data at any time, and we will do so except where we are legally required to keep certain records.
9. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and access is restricted so each household can only see its own information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data with reasonable safeguards.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Contact us to make a request; we will respond within a reasonable time.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, when appropriate, let account holders know.
